What I'm Doing Now
Last updated: January 2026
This is a now page - a snapshot of what I’m currently up to.
💼 Work
🛠️ Projects
At MX Technologies, I’m currently focused on helping users and clients make sense of their data, and on supporting our data science efforts into providing richer financial products to the end user. Right now:
dbtbegan its life at MX as a side project of mine, and after the success of its use as my project’s primary pipeline orchestrator, it has now matured to the point where we are deploying it across the company on all our pipelines. Great stuff!- New year brings new projects on the horizon! And I hear that I’m going to be dusting off my
pysparkskils. Time to look up some YouTube tutorials…
🌱 Life
🛠️ Side Projects
- Ansible-based GitOps for the HomeLab: I’m building out Ansible playbooks for my homelab, to control docker container deploys, manage host monitoring, and more.
- NAS Migration: I currently run a Dell R420 as my NAS and it gobbles power like nothing. I don’t need all 24 server cores when all I’m running home automation software, so I’m migrating to a new setup that sips power.
📚 Learning
- I’d really like to learn more about handling streaming data, so we’re focusing on that the next couple of weeks.

🎨 Other Hobbies
- I’m dipping my toes into DJ-ing. Got a little deck for Christmas!
- As things dry up, I’m hoping to bike more 🚴♂️
