💼 Work

🛠️ Data Engineering is fun!

Been taking my time to get to know Figure and get to know my new team. Lots of cool, interesting, and smart people, and I’m excited to continue working with them day to day. I started out exploring the codebase, fixing pipelines, and now I’m getting ready to dive into the main pipelines to bring the power of dbt to our infrastructure. Can’t wait to see what we find!

🛠️ Side Projects

• Homelab Rebuild: I moved and it’s about time I rebuild everything to work better together, and more declaratively. Always on services, all the time! Might be a bit of overkill, but hopefully this will cut down on the number of times I get a text from my sister because the server she watches TV through (i.e. hooked up to the TV antenna on my apartment balcony) is down. Girl needs her Survivor.

📚 Learning

• Kubernetes! We use it at work, and it’s about time I bite the bullet. It’s also going to be the underlying tech for my new homelab and everything I do there.
• Terraform! Can you guess? Same reason as above, no surprise there.
